She Belongs to Me
I think this every time I look at you. Every time you smile at me and my heart skips a beat. I get to keep you, forever. I will always be able to say, "My daughter..this" and "My daughter..that" and its awesome. The last 2 weeks have been sweet. Full of open mouthed giggles, snuggles at 6 am, and easy going smiles. You just seem to give and give and I soak up everything you have. You are my girl. I wonder how many times I have written that so far. I just light up whenever I get to talk about you. When ladies stop me in Target and say, "Aww she's so sweet, what's her name?" I can feel my whole body lighten and I say MOLLY GENEVIEVE with this stupid smile on my face because..well..you belong to me. *and because your name is wonferful and beautiful and ...YOU.
You, Molly Bird, belong to me (and daddy too of course who is just CRAZY about you) and your little squaks and squeals (ear piercing, for real) are perfectly fitting of the picture of you I had in my mind while you were kicking around in my belly.
I can't believe it has been 3 months. I swear, I will write down your birth story this week! I havent forgotten a single detail, believe me.
You are still sleeping really well and you are just such a calm baby. You can wake up for a nap and just hang out quietly by yourself. I always wonder what you are thinking. I love checking on you, finding you are awake, and you give me that little funny smile. I wonder if you are thinking, "She belongs to me" too? Oh, I hope so. Because I want you to love me, look up to me, and be proud of me.
We went to our firt movie date on Monday with our friends Jackie and Jolie! You slept most of the time but you girls had fun. You also visited your first bowling alley. Again, you slept most of the time but when you were awake you were smiling and checking out all the lights. The family next to us had two teens with them - a girl and a boy. Daddy mentioned that that would be us 13 or so years from now. I hope we'll be cool enough to spend time with..I hope we can instill a strong family tie between the 4 of us. Our family is SO good. Your grandparents are loving and sweet and thoughtful and would do anything for you and Owen. I am glad to have brought you into a world of such GOODness.
Ok well you are waking up from your 5 o clock nap and I want to go kiss those cheeks!

First Medication
Your second cold has led to a double ear infection :( You didnt have a fever or show any other signs; Dr. Baker says you cant tell with little ones like you unless you look in the ear with a fancy device :) I think they should start selling those for moms. Anyway, you are MUCH happier than you were this weekend and I am so glad. Your cold made you absoluely miserable.
When we went to the doctor you weighed in at 15 lbs - at 1o weeks old!!!! Good job!
For the last 2 weeks you have been sleeping about 6 hours a night. You usually sleep from 10 - 4 or 11 - 5. Sometimes there might be a quick snack around 2 am.
You are such a cuddle bug and love to snuggle in SO deep when you are nursing I usually watch you smush into my side and arm pit. You pretty much want to be enveloped in your mom - and I'm not complaining!!!
We have just a few weeks left before I have to go back to work and to say I am dreading it doesnt do this feeling justice. I want to be with you ALL of the time.
Daddy and I have left you a few times to go out on dates. We have a nice time but I'd be lying if I said I didnt think about you the whole time.

Confession: I said I would NEVER put you in tights. I bought 5 pairs last week.
As you can see - we had a GREAT time at the Children's Museum, such a great time in fact that you slept most of the time!!!
That first picture is Gramma Sadler on the first night she and Papa babysat you while daddy and I went on a date to the Monkey Bar and ate tapas!
Your AUntie Heather in Florida made you those boots!
A mini photoshoot after dinner with your brother turned out quite well! Not bad for a 10 minute session!
You just grow and grow and I have to snap away with the camera to capture it all!

2 month check up and your latest and greatest
You are one healthy girl!!
Weight - 13 lbs 13 oz - 97th percentile (this was up an entire pound since an earlier visit week and a half ago before your appt!!)
Length - 23 inches - 75th percentile (this is 3 inches longer since birth)
Your head is in the 80th percentile
You cannot fit into any 3 month outfits anymore. We are now into 3-6 or simply 6 month things.
Dr. Baker laughed outloud when she tested your legs. She said, "Let's see if you can stand on your feet a little," and as she gently set you to her feet, you stiffened your legs and stood straight up and stayed that way for a few minutes as we chatted. Your head strength and swatting skills put you in the "advanced" category :) But who is surprised by that??!! haha
Since your appointment you have turned into more BABY and much less NEWBORN. You are awake almost all day - only taking short naps here and there. Last night you slept about 6 hours which was incredible but since you still sleep with me I didnt sleep "hard" that whole time. You LOVE to smile and you r enjoy a warm bubble bath just like your mama!
You have started taking bottles with no problem! The milk and nipple must be very warm though!
Well you are awake and crying for some hugs...I will add more later!
